The tree removal I posted about in July was delayed and the tree only came down a few days ago.
What was left of the deck went as well and as you can see in the pic there is more clean up work to be done. It’s so different and so sunny. The tree had provided lots of shade and even on hot days it was nice to sit on the deck under the large tree.
I’m not rushing to have the area done. I want to think about what I want, what would work best for me, provide shade, and so forth. So, through the fall and winter I’ll be going over designs and making decisions. I’ll have everything set and ready to start the project in the spring.
I did save two small sections of the tree and the way they were cut, they will make perfect bookends.
I will so miss my beautiful tree but it was time. Several of the big branches were diseased and one whole section was rotted. The man in charge of the crew told me it probably would not have survived the winter.
I have lots of ideas in mind for the area and will share pics next spring when it is all done!
