I cannot begin to tell how thrilled I am with writing about Cree & Dawn again. I set out to plot their story and instead the couple swept me up and had me writing. It was as if I picked up from where I last left off in their life.
If you recall in the last Cree & Dawn story, Highlander’s Magical Love, it began in the past and that was where Cree found out that Dawn was once again pregnant. Highland Secrets begins a few months after that.
Cree receives a message from a friend, Chieftain Newlin of the Clan Strathearn. He has never asked for help from Cree until now. His people are disappearing, as if snatched away by an invisible hand and he begs Cree to help him. He fears the myth, no one will dare mention, is the cause, but how does one conquer a myth?
Cree forbids Dawn from going with him and naturally Dawn disagrees, but it is not as simple as that, or so they learn from Old Mary. (I just love Old Mary) She knows about the myth (she is such a wise woman) and she warns them about it. Here’s a wee peek.
“It is time you know about the myth. It is an ancient one buried in time or perhaps out of fear.” Old Mary mumbled a silent blessing before she continued. “There came a time of upheaval where battles were never-ending and where peace seemed impossible. During this time, it is said an evil rose up in the land and swallowed people whole. Young or old, it did not matter, they simply vanished without a trace. Whispered tongues believed that a crack in the earth allowed demons to escape and they captured the innocent to serve their evil needs. Some believe it is nothing more than a tale to frighten people into submission. Truth or tale, I know not. You must tread lightly on this journey, for if the myth proves true the demons will claim more souls to serve them.”
That was enough for Cree to make sure Dawn does not go with him, but Old Mary tells Cree something he does not want to hear.
I cannot believe the last Cree & Dawn story was in 2018. That is much too long to go without another Cree & Dawn tale. I am so happy to be writing about the couple again.
I will keep you updated on Cree & Dawn and give you wee peeks into the book along the way. I thought at first it would be a novella, but with all that is going on in the story, it needs to be a book.
Keep an eye out for news and wee peeks on my blog and in my newsletters about Highland Secrets A Cree & Dawn Novel, tentative release date March 2022.

Hi Sheryl,
So nice to have you here. Unchained Highlander & Forbidden Highlander are book 1 & 2 in the Cree and Dawn Series. There were separate books when they first came out, but book one continues into book two so I finally made them one book. You can find out all about it here. To learn more about the Cree & Dawn Series you can go here. Any questions just ask.

Can’t wait! Can’t wait! Can’t wait! Of all the books I have, and that’s more than I need believe me, Cree and Dawn are my favorite couple. There’s something about them that just pulls you in and holds you. A certain magic? Must be. Now I have to go cull through the rest of my books and get rid of the so-so ones. More room for Cree and Dawn.
Oh I can’t wait to read about Cree and Dawn.
