I’m having a celebration for The Highland Warlord’s Kiss, book two of Highland Myths Trilogy! Everything is moving along nicely, and it looks like it will release mid-November. I am having a wonderful time with Torin and Flora. She has a curious nature, asking endless questions, and she also speaks her mind and expresses her opinion whether asked to or not. She is not at all what Torin expected but he discovers she is so much more. I can’t wait for you to read their story.
In the meantime, I want to celebrate the release of their forthcoming book with a giveaway. Here are the details.

Choose Tavia because she was carefree and adventurous
Hmmm.. that’s a hard question to answer. If I were to go by what I saw of all three of the ladies in Highland Secrets, it would probably be a toss up between Flora and Fia. But I may change my mind on that after reading the whole of the trilogy. I really enjoyed Tavia’s book, and watching her find her courage, and my poor heart just bled for her during the first bit of her marriage.. But in Secret’s I was drawn to Flora because of her spunk.. I can’t wait to see what fresh hell she puts Torin through.. LOL!! And as for Fia, I love her intelligence, and that spooky, mysterious vibe she’s got going on. I’m a big fan of that “touch of the paranormal” you do in some of your books, so Fia is a big draw for me. So I think for now, I’d rate Flora just barely above Fia, and then Tavia. And I can’t wait to see if that remains the case after all of the books have been read.
I know I’ll find something to admire in each of the heroines.
My favorite so far is Tavia. The story revolved around expectations and the re-evaluation of those expectations. Tavia’s limp made it initially easy to expect she would passively accept events and people surrounding her. Instead, she did not let her physical limitations define her. She persisted and overcame the judgments others. Eventually, she obtained the respect and admiration of the clan and her spouse.
This story resonated with me. I adopted a puppy who had a limp (Lexi) from a rescue who specialized in getting dogs from high kill shelters. We were initially told the limp would go away, but after a period of time, we realized it was permanent. I had expectations of this dog and how she should act (friendly, tail wagging). She was shy, sought out corners of rooms and slow to warm up to people-she did not like men. She had trauma that never left. While gaining the trust of that dog, Lexi taught me to accept her and to love her as she was and not the way I thought she should be.
The three heroines are Fia, Tavia, and Flora. Out of the three I love Tavia. She was brassy and spirited and brave. I just loved everything about her.
I like Tavia, she has a disability, a limp so it’s good to see someone that’s not ‘perfect’. She’s quiet but fearless and someone I feel connected to and would want on my side.
I liked Tavia because she was her own person in a time when women were not valued for their opinions. Also, she met her challenges in a crafty way.
I like all three Tavia, Flora and Fia. Tavia had the strength to deal with a hurt leg and the pain she suffered. I like Flora because of her curiosity on everything. But Fia is my favorite. She is a healer who is accused of Witchery. She faces death, but she is strong. Her story interests me the most.
I feel like this is a trick question… im always intrigued the most by whom ever the last book will be about, because i know their story will wrap everyone together. Fia is definitely my most anticipated story to read but im always excited about the others too…. my skin get goose bumps as soon as I get a notification that another DF book is about to be release.
I absolutely love the character Fia. She goes about wanting to learn in a weird way, and she isn’t afraid to learn, even though people accuse her of witchcraft I loved the way little Hana wasn’t scared of her and the way she stood up for her did make me chuckle, so I stand with Fia.
I love Flora best, because she is like we Germans are: outspoken, has always an opinion and is not shy to voice it even if it is not convenient. She doesn’t beat around the bushes, you always know what’s what.
I love all of your books.
I choose Dawn because she was able to overcome not having a voice and lived a great life because of it.
Flora! She’s highly intelligent (from both her parents), and she’s not a quitter (even ill she’s interested in solving this mystery)
Tavia because she stood up to anything. She was bold and adventurous to a fault.
Tavia is my favorite. She was thought to be weak because she was small, petite and injured. But in the end everyone witness how brave and courageous she was.
I just Tavia, she was very strong even tho people assumed she is weak
Tavia because I can relate to her struggle of a disability but carries on to no end
I liked Tavia the best because she didn’t let her limo hold her back.
Until I read the entire Trilogy, I think I have to rate Flora slightly over FIA. Flora is intelligent, independent, and not afraid to speak her mind. She is also diplomatic when she needs to be. To me, her spirit represents the strength of character and compassion needed to survive the harsh life of the medieval Scottish Highlands. She also reminds me of Dawn.
Tavia, because she’s brave and courageous
Definitely Tavia.. I love how brave she is and how she did what she needed to do knowing what the outcome might be but still had the courage to it. She also learned that it was okay to not be perfect, you are still worthy and capable.
I am automatically partial to Tavia because we have her full/rich story. However, excited to change my mind with each of the 2 upcoming books! And happy that book 2 may be arriving earlier this month than expected! Yay! 🙂
I must say that Tavia’s silent strength and determination to always demonstrate kindness despite what her circumstances were hit home for me. I actually got goose bumps several times seeing the world from her experiences. I look forward to Flora and Fía’s stories. Thank You for your beautiful work!
I like Tavia best, I like her spirit.
Although all three women are strong willed in there own way , I have to choose Tavia. She had to live with a chronic illness as well as an infliction. The pain physically and emotionally she had to endure on a daily basis is overwhelming. Yet, it never kept her from caring for others and not thinking of herself. It didn’t make her bitter , it strengthened her. Especially living in that time with no modern medical treatment or modern technology. What a Courageous Women She was.
Well, Dawn made me cry several times over. She is a boss lady. I loved her inner spirit – and her inner core is epic.
My disclaimer Cree and Dawn are my 2nd favorite series only slightly after The Pict King series! And I’ve been around since the “town called harmony” books lol… had those in paperback once upon a time
Oh my goodness, Nicole. Playing Cupid A Town Called Harmony is not even available anymore. It was a work for hire book so I don’t have the rights to it, but it was a long, long time ago. Big HUG for sticking with me through the years. It is appreciated more than you know!
Fai because she keeps to what she promises no matter what. You don’t find loyalty like that much these days. Can’t wait for her story to come out.
All three have interesting characters, but I have to pick Fia as I find stories featuring healers fascinating. I imagine Varrick will be a challenge and will hopefully learn to appreciate her talents.
Tavia’s battle gaining respect reminds me so much of my own struggles doing the same with my own physical and mental struggles and how people view me. Like Tavia, i refuse to let my disabilities define me, and reading how she overcame all of those hurdles, and found someone who admires her the way she is, it has definitely endeared her to me, and given me hope to someday overcome my own obstacles again the way that she has and that i used to before this last physical and mental setback. Can’t wait to read more and learn more about each and every heroine you write. They’re all so great! 💕
I would choose Tavia because she had a strong will and a gracious heart. She didn’t let her disability define her but embraced her destiny.
Travia .The reason is the way she grew under the worst circumstance.
I have just finished reading about Flora and Torin and I loved them both. I’m am excited about Fia and Varrick, but I think Tavia and Bhric are my favorites. She has strength and courage and even though all the ladies have challenges she meets hers with dignity and never lets it slow her down.
I for sure would choose Flora!! I love that she is always wanting to learn and incessantly asking questions!! She refuses to be anyone other than herself with openness and honesty.
