Highlander The Cursed Lord Cover!

DonnaFletcher HighlanderTheCursedLord eCover 200The Highland Intrigue Trilogy book covers are a change from my usual ones. Some of you like them and some of you don’t, and I appreciate whatever feedback I receive. I’m one to try different things, stir things up a bit, so you never know what you may get from me cover wise. I’d love to know what you think of this cover.

Also do you have any preference to a cover? Couples? A shirtless man? A lone woman? A scene instead of people? How much do covers actually matter to you when deciding to buy a book?

Watch for news on a giveaway in celebration of the third and final book in Highland Intrigue Trilogy!

Thanks so much & lots of hugs!

Donna

I am loving your new covers! I think the cover is so important because it is what first catches your eye, tempts you to read the back of the book and get you involved in the plot.

I don’t rely on the cover to “sell” me on the book but I do expect it to be relevant to the story (no clowns if there aren’t clowns in the story). I feel like covers are another way for the author to show their creativity and ultimately it’s your book and your cover! I select off of the storyline blurb and reviews, especially if I am debating on a new author and that author doesn’t participate in Kindle Unlimited. For this cover, it would be nice to see a bit more of the face but I’m in it for the story so it definitely isn’t a deal-breaker for me.

I do react to covers but I don’t like the ones that show people who look like they come off Vouge magazine covers. I want the people to look like the ones I am reading about. I hope this makes sense!

Cover matters if I’m looking for a new author. There’s just something about the look of the book that piques my interest. Once an author becomes one of my favorites, cover doesn’t matter and I move on to “please write faster” 😂

Love the new covers. Covers are always what catches my eye first, if the cover is boring or looks old, I will go right by.

Frankly, anything that is written by Donna Fletcher is something that I will read, intriguing cover or not. As one of the reviews stated, unless it’s a new author to me, I don’t find covers particularly relevant. I do, however, want the cover to accurately represent the characters.
The eyes on this cover are wonderful and compelling!

I wish the book was out now. I cannot wait to read. I think I may like this book best. You are a wonderful writer. Thanks for all the books. Keep them coming please. I love the new covers. But the story is what sells me

Hello Donna,
I appreciate that you write such wonderful stories and share them with all of us. As far as the cover’s go, I think the cover helps to set up the stage for the play. But in this world where everyone has an opinion about everything I think since it is your baby you brought it into this world, it should be your decision as to which baby picture you put up. I have a saying it’s crass but so am I
“Opinions are like assholes, everybody’s got one”
You just keep doing what you do so well and Thank you for taking me somewhere I can just be.

I look at the cover first, then I read the description. If I like how it is described, I buy it. I never would have bought Pepper and the highlander by the cover. It looked like a child’s story, but it is a good book. I really like your intrigue books. This Cursed Lord book is sounding interesting. I look forward to reading more of Bliss and Rannick’s story.

Covers are certainly important, but how much so depends on many things!

When it comes to someone like YOU, who is an automatic buy, the cover could be a white block with black text and I’m still hitting “Buy Now.” 🙂

On the other hand, another one of my now-favorite authors came to my attention solely because of a FANTASTIC book cover. Karen Ranney’s “Autumn in Scotland” still ranks among my absolute favorite covers. But when I first saw it 15 years ago, I’d never read her, never heard of her and the very brief description on the back did not pique my interest at all. But oh that cover! I had to buy it. And it opened me up to a whole new favorite!

I like your new covers, but I’m still partial to “Return of the Rogue,” perhaps because it was my first. I really liked the Pict King covers, too.

Whatever the covers, just keep writing, please!

Covers are what draws your eye to a book, so they are important. I really like the covers for the Highland Intrigue Trilogy. Also, the Pict King series you captured the characters perfectly. I do not like when a cover doesn’t accurately show the character that the story is about. Just read the sneak peek to The Cursed Lord. Can’t wait to read the book!!! Hurry up January:)

As always, I am eager to continue the reading “The Cursed Lord”. I love your nibbles, they amp up the intrigue of the book. 😉
As to the cover, I enjoy the current covers for this TRILOGY as they add to the mystery and intrigue of each story and the trilogy as a whole. Your covers always enhance your stories. I, too, look first at the author, but then the cover usually tells or at least hints as to the story.

The only typo oops was I found was in the 2nd Chapter. “The night wore on and so did her strength and after a while, tears joined the rain that ran done (should be down) her cheeks.”

As always with this comment, my love and best wishes are included. Hope you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving with all of the trimmings and blessings of the day. Don’t over due and get sluggish with the writings though 😀🙃😘.
Much love, RDL

I don’t rely on the covers of a book, but more the author who is doing the writing of the book. I have read MANY of your books and love your stories, so I would buy it even if there was a clown on the cover!!! Can’t wait for the release!!

Love the covers as they are mysterious yet simple. I don’t like ones that show the women with the men for some reason. The sneak peak is amazing! I’m upset I don’t have more to read – excellent start to the 3rd book and I’m sure it won’t disappoint. Will wait impatiently for Jan 2022.

I love a good cover on a book but it’s the description of the book that sells me. I have read the majority of your books as you’re my favorite author. I’m a member of kindle unlimited and buy your books through amazon. I always look forward to your new books, please keep them coming.

I love the new covers. As you grow and evolve as an author, your covers should as well. As long as they are true to the story, it’s your chance to show your feelings about the story. Love everything you write.

I prefer a scene, like the prequel.
Not so much the cover, but I find , I need to be captured by the first paragraph, or I loose interest.
You have my attention, and I am excited for my next book.
Looking forward to more.

Love the new cover art. It’s part of what attracted me to the books. The other part was the author. Love the covers, love the two I’ve read so far, and am anxiously waiting for the third.

I absolutely love the covers! Their eyes is what got me! I look for certain authors to read, not covers. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like a sexy one now and again 😃😃

I think the cover helps readers pick up a book, but it is the author who readers seek out. It is great that you have tried a different look for this trilogy and I think it works. Also have loved your other covers as well. It’s nice to mix it up. The first couple of chapters has already got me hooked and can’t wait until January!!
