Those Sinclare brothers sure are busy!

What’s next?

Ronan’s book The Highlander’s Forbidden Bride is all set, galleys done. Next time I see it, it will be in book form. And while all of you anxiously await its release, I’m busy getting to know four new Highlander Warriors. After having written twenty something books it still amazes me how characters continue to introduce themselves. Whether they pop into my head at odd hours and places, or I meet them in my dreams, they continue to come to me. They certainly are persistent!

The four heroes in my Warrior King series are tenacious in their quest for their stories to be told. They are honorable men on an honorable mission. They have pledged to see their mission through, letting nothing stand in their way. But there’s one thing they cannot avoid… falling in love, especially when there’s women who need rescuing.

Right from page one in the first book of the series, the hero has to rescue the heroine. But when he does, he has another problem. Their wrists are shackled together and with no way of getting them off, what does he do now? It’s quite a predicament and one that isn’t resolved too soon.

I’ll be posting more on the new series in the coming weeks, but in the meantime don’t forget to send in your name for the Halloween contest and there’s Ronan’s contest too. Just let me know which Sinclare brother you liked the best. If you like them all that’s all right, just tell me.

I’m off to do more writing. I just can’t resist these new heroes!

Which Witch Books?

I was at an antique show yesterday and quite enjoyed it. I browsed through the various offerings of a multitude of vendors, old jewelry being one of my many favorite collectibles and of course books. I found an old copy of Nora Robert’s book Charmed. I can’t recall if it was a three or four book series for Silhouette, but I do recall thoroughly enjoying all the books, so I bought Charmed.

It got me thinking of which witch books I’ve enjoyed and those I’m looking forward to reading, so I thought I’d share some with you. I’m also going to include non-fiction books on witchcraft that I found informative.

Here’s my list and I’ve included a link to the authors website if available.

I’ve mentioned this one before, but I really do enjoy this series and highly recommend it. It’s a mystery with a touch of romance. The Trouble With Magic by Madelyn Alt (first one in the series) and I’m looking forward to getting the most recent (#5) Where There’s A Witch. I’ve already read books 2-4 and I love the characters.

I recently read A Veiled Deception by Annette Blair A Vintage Magic series where the heroine is just beginning to discover her own unique and inherited powers. There’s also a charming ghost in the mix. I had to run out and buy Larceny and Lace, which I read much too fast.

While I haven’t read My Favorite Witch by Lisa Plumley, a friend of mine recommended it and she echoed a portion of the Library Journal review ” sexy & hilarious.” So it’s on my must read list.

Bewitching by Jill Barnett may be an older book (1993) but it’s a keeper and worth reading again.

Now for some non-fiction for anyone interested in finding out about Witchcraft.

Green Magic The Sacred Connection and The Origins of Modern Witchcraft both by Ann Moura

A History of Witchcraft, Sorcerers, Heretics and Pagans by Jeffery B. Russell

I also recommend any books on witchcraft by Raymond Buckland.

If anyone has any favorites to add, please share them! And don’t forget to sign up for the Halloween contest and Ronan’s contest.

Another Contest?

It’s been almost four months since I moved and I’m still going through boxes. The last few hold all books. So I’ve enjoyed getting reacquainted with old friends, though it’s hard deciding who to visit with first. Then there are the  boxes that hold all my books, the ones I’ve written. Seeing how many copies I have, I thought it might be a good idea to hold another contest along with Ronan’s.

I’m deciding on which books to offer and if I decide on a series, then it will be the whole series I offer, since some titles are no longer available.

By the end of the week I’ll post the contest details so check back and see what I’m offering!
